SRINAGAR: The court of additional sessions judge, Srinagar, designated as a special court under the NIA Act, Tuesday remanded two Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists and their Kashmiri accomplice in 10-day police custody, citing the gravity of their offences.Police arrested the trio — Pakistani LeT ultras Abdullah alias Abu Hureira and Khubaib alias Usman Bahi, and their associate Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama from Kashmir — on April 6 in raids across J&K, Rajasthan and Haryana as part of an investigation that busted an interstate Lashkar-e-Taiba module.A senior police officer said Abdullah had infiltrated India about 16 years ago and remained active in Kashmir Valley. Mir was accused of providing logistical support, including shelter and food. The accused were booked under Sections 23, 18, 19, 20, 38 and 39 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and under Arms Act, including Section 25(1A) which prescribes stringent punishment for possession, manufacture or transfer of prohibited arms or ammunition and under Explosive Substances Act for offences relating to using or conspiring to use explosive substances to cause harm. The accused were allegedly involved in grave offences that posed a threat to the security, sovereignty and integrity of India, the court noted, holding that sufficient grounds existed for their police custody since the probe was ongoing.
