GHAZIABAD: A four-year-old girl who was allegedly taken for “a walk” by her maternal uncle with the promise of buying her food was later found dead under a parked car in Teela Mod area, with her family accusing the man of rape and murder.Police said they received a call around 8pm on Saturday about the child’s body lying under a white car.She had been missing for more than eight hours by then. The body was sent for an autopsy, and forensic teams collected evidence from the spot. The autopsy and forensic reports are awaited.The girl was the second of three siblings. Her parents work as daily wagers. According to the family, the child was taken from outside her home around noon, when only she and her father were present. Her father is blind.The father said the accused, his brother-in-law, had been staying a short distance away for about a month and used to visit them often.On Saturday afternoon, he came to the house while the girl was sitting outside eating ice-cream and took her away, saying he would buy her more things.By the time the girl’s mother returned home and realised her daughter was missing, the child had already gone for some time. The family began searching the neighbourhood.Residents told the family they had seen the maternal uncle with the girl. When they went to his room, it was locked. A relative said the accused later spoke from the landlord’s phone and claimed the girl had been with him, but that he had dropped her back home.Hours later, the family was informed by police about the body of a young girl. At the hospital, they identified her as their daughter.A family member alleged that the accused, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, was a habitual substance abuser and had come to stay in the area about a month ago after a dispute with his wife and family.Police handed over the body to the family on Sunday.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
