Lucknow: A 26-year-old barber working with a popular beauty saloon service was arrested in Lucknow’s PGI area on Thursday for threatening his landlord’s son with a country-made pistol and attempted to shoot him during an argument. Police said the firing attempt failed as the weapon misfired.According to police, the incident took place in Utrethia under the PGI police station limits following a dispute between the accused and his landlord’s family.“Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, police registered an FIR under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act for criminal intimidation, attempt to murder and illegal possession of a firearm,” said ADCP South Vasanth Rallapalli.“The accused, identified as Abhishek Srivastava (26), native of Bareilly living in a rented accommodation in Utrethia, was taken into custody soon after the incident,” he added.Police said they recovered a .315-bore country-made pistol and one live cartridge from his possession.
