Lucknow: UP tourism department’s ‘The Riding Chapters: Visit My State’, a motorcycle tourism initiative is aimed at promoting road travel and lesser-known destinations, with a two-day expedition to Kalinjar Fort, beginning on Sunday.Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh will flag off from 1090 Chauraha a convoy of 65 riders whose 330-km route will pass through Kanpur, Bindki and Banda, culminating at Kalinjar Fort and Chitrakoot.Visiting the fort, participants will experience Bundelkhand’s rural hospitality at Gulmohar Eco Spot in Banda, showcasing local cuisine and village experiences.“The Riding Chapters encourages to discovering UP through a combination of adventure with heritage, introducing destinations like Kalinjar to a new generation of travellers,” Singh said.Atop Vindhyan hills, Kalinjar Fort is associated with Lord Neelkanth Mahadev, Chandela dynasty and ancient temples, rock-cut sculptures and historic water systems. It is key focus of state’s efforts to strengthen heritage tourism in Bundelkhand.Additional chief secretary, tourism, culture and religious affairs, Amrit Abhijat, said the initiative reflects the state’s growing emphasis on bringing together heritage, adventure and rural experiences in a single journey.Another expedition, scheduled for Aug 22-23, will cover Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Devdari and Rajdari waterfalls and Chunar Fort under Visit My State campaign.
