LUCKNOW: Forensic analysis of the mobile phone of the 19-year-old accused who shot dead his businessman father and dismembered the body has revealed that he had watched multiple YouTube videos on ways to dispose of a body.Police sources said the digital forensic examination of phone has revealed a pattern of searches and video consumption related to dismembering and disposing of a corpse. Police believe this played a key role in how the accused planned and executed the post-murder cover-up.The teenager shot his father with the latter’s licensed rifle around 4:30am on Feb 20 at their Aashiana home. Since his father weighed 110kg, it was a challenge to dispose of the body. The accused then watched online tutorials before ordering tools such as knives and a manual saw through e-commerce platforms. After getting the tools, he severed the hands from shoulders and legs above the knees and concealed the torso in a drum at home. After disposing of some body parts, he spent next two days arranging ways to transport the torso to a dumping place. The accused allegedly wrapped the torso in polythene and sealed it inside the drum, which was later recovered from his room.Police said the accused bought a blue plastic drum large enough to fit inside his Brezza car after visiting three shops. He also bought thick polythene sheets and 20 litres of kerosene, possibly to mask odour and aid disposal.Police are now collecting CCTV footage and billing records from local markets to corroborate the purchases. To divert suspicion, the teenager lodged a missing person complaint at Aashiana police station and made 135 phone calls to various individuals to project anxiety. His phone’s call detail records (CDR) are being analysed to identify whether he sought assistance from anyone. Investigators are probing all contacts made during this period.Police sources said that after the murder, he attempted to contact a family lawyer, insisting on a private meeting and claiming it was urgent. However, the lawyer was unavailable due to court commitments. During this period, he is also believed to have informally confessed to a few acquaintances. The posts on social media by family friends point towards long-standing domestic discord. A Facebook post by neighbour Anshuman Dubey suggested strained relations between the father and children — the accused lost his mother when he was 11. The post also alluded to alleged influence from relatives, financial disputes, and personal relationships contributing to tensions within the family. The accused has been lodged in Lucknow jail since his arrest on Feb 23. Jail sources said he appears disturbed, does not eat much food and remains awake at night.
