NEW DELHI: The BJP on Thursday accused Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge of deliberately spreading a false narrative of home minister Amit Shah not attending Parliament, saying he cannot be a part of its proceedings when the opposition party will not allow the legislature to function through its unceasing protests.Shah is willing to hear the opposition and will reply emphatically, the BJP said. “Shah is present at his office in the Parliament House all day. But you will not allow Parliament to run… He can attend only when you allow it to function,” BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters in a rejoinder to the LoPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over their constant attack on Shah over the issue. Both Rahul and Kharge have repeatedly questioned Shah’s absence from Parliament, demanding a debate on the Ram temple donation theft and Shah’s statement on Delhi police’s excesses against student protesters.
