Lucknow: A financial adviser working with a private company was allegedly beaten to death following a drunken brawl at a country liquor shop, and his body was put in his car in Aashiana.Two suspects have been arrested, police said.The victim, Gyanendra Singh, was a resident of Rae Bareli. Police said the incident came to light late Friday, when information was received about an unidentified man lying dead in a car parked at Saleh Nagar trisection in Aashiana.The autopsy established that Gyanendra died due to head injuries, following which police registered a murder case.Police registered a murder case on the complaint of Gyanendra’s brother Shashivendra Singh.DCP, central zone, Vikrant Vir said police examined CCTV footage and reconstructed Gyanendra’s movement before his death.The footage revealed that Gyanendra had a fight at or near a liquor shop on Aug 6 following a dispute over drinking. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Gyanendra sustained a serious blow to his head.The DCP said that after the assault, the accused placed Gyanendra’s body on the rear seat of the car.“The CCTV footage, along with other evidence collected during the investigation, helped police identify Sachin alias China (30) and Jitendra alias Jeetu (37) as suspects. A team of Ashiyana police arrested both men on Saturday,” the DCP said.Police are questioning the suspects to establish the sequence of events.Police records show that Sachin had a criminal case registered against him at Aashiana police station. Investigators are also collecting details of Jitendra’s criminal history.
