Lucknow: Dreams built with struggle and hope came crashing down for a taxi driver’s family as their son was found dead in his room at Lucknow University’s Subhash Hostel on Sunday afternoon. The sudden demise of their beloved son has left them devastated.Coming from an economically weaker background, the boy was the pride of his family and carried the hopes of the family for a brighter future. His father, a taxi driver, struggled to come to terms with the loss. “Never in my dreams did I think he could take such a step. He was a bright student all through,” he said, adding in a breaking voice that his son never seemed unhappy. The boy’s teachers also remembered him as sincere, disciplined and academically strong — someone who never missed classes, consistently scored well and submitted every assignment on time. Fellow students described him as quiet and reserved, often seen immersed in books at the Tagore Library. “He mostly kept to himself, but he was always polite,” a senior student said. “He would visit often, greet everyone with respect, and never once appeared disturbed. It’s hard to believe he is gone,” said the deceased boy’s local guardian.For a family that had pinned its hopes on the young boy’s education, the tragedy has left behind only silence — and shattered dreams.
