Lucknow: A 28-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured after the motorcycle they were travelling on crashed into a road divider on the G-20 Road in Lucknow on Sunday.The accident took place near Bada Baraj under the Gomti Nagar Extension police station area. Police received information about the accident through Dial 112 and immediately reached the spot.According to the preliminary investigation, three people were travelling on the motorcycle towards Shaheed Path from the G-20 Road. The rider apparently lost control of the motorcycle while negotiating a sharp turn, following which it crashed into the divider. All three occupants sustained injuries.The injured woman, identified as Amita Verma, 28, daughter of Matadeen Verma and a resident of Sevagram Society, Malhaur, Chinhat, was rushed by bystanders to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Doctors declared her dead on arrival.The two injured persons were identified as Alok, 30, son of Ghasiram Gangwar and a resident of Chinhat-Matiyari, and Saloni Verma, 30, daughter of Matadeen Verma and a resident of Sevagram Society, Malhaur. They were initially taken to HealthCity Extension Hospital and later referred to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for further treatment.Police have informed the families of the deceased and the injured. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination after completion of the required proceedings.Police officials inspected the accident site and are collecting evidence as part of the ongoing investigation. Further legal proceedings are underway.
