Lucknow: A district court in Sultanpur has awarded life imprisonment to four persons for the murder of a brick kiln owner in 2019. The court slapped a fine of Rs 3.98 lakh on the four accused with directions that 80% of the amount would be transferred to the victim’s family.On Nov 12, 2019, brick kiln owner Vijay Kumar, his brother Arpit and their cousin Amrendra Singh were stopped by one Chandrashekhar Kesarwani and his associates near a bank in Amethi’s Gauriganj. The two sides entered into a heated exchange over some old issue and Chandrashekhar’s demand of Rs 2 lakh as protection money from Vijay and Arpit.Chandrashekhar opened fire at Vijay. He was rushed to a hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.Police investigation revealed that Chandrashekhar Kesarwani opened fire at Vijay while his associates Shubham Tiwari, Golu alias Sandeep Jaiswal and Kallu Mirchawala alias Suraj were also involved in the conspiracy which included a demand of Rs 2 lakh from Vijay as protection money. Name of a minor also figured as an accused.Additional district judge (ADJ) IV found Chandrashekhar Kesarwani, Shubham Tiwari, Golu alias Sandeep Jaiswal and Kallu Mirchawala alias Suraj guilty of murder, extortion and related criminal offences on the basis of evidence and testimonies of the witnesses.
