Lucknow: A man arrested for possessing smack escaped from the lock-up of Durgah police station in Bahraich while the policemen were preparing to take him to the district court. Bahraich SP Vishwajeet Srivastava has suspended two policemen and ordered registration of a criminal case against them.Durgah police arrested a resident of Gilula locality in the neighbouring Shravasti district on Sunday for possessing smack and a case was lodged under the NDPS Act. He was lodged at the police station lock-up. On Monday morning, policemen on duty were preparing to take him to the district court for further directions, when he went to the toilet to relieve himself and disappeared from there.The cops suspended are constable Tej Prakash Verma and woman constable Princy Yadav. Three police teams have been formed to trace the escaped accused. An inquiry has been entrusted to Additional SP (City) Ayush Vikram Singh under the supervision of the City Circle Officer.
