Lucknow: The state govt constituted a Kaushal Connect Cell (KCC) to provide manpower to large industries investing in the state. The cell will ensure effective coordination between Invest UP and UP Skill Development Mission (UPSDM).The KCC will not only promote ease of doing business in the state, but will also play a significant role in transforming UP into a true ‘skill hub’. The idea, officials said, is in line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s resolve to transform UP into a $1-trillion economy.According to vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship minister Kapil Dev Agarwal, ‘SpeedUp’ PMU, engaged to accelerate the processes of training under the UPSDM, will now establish real-time coordination with investors through the KCC. “With major investments coming into the state, we need to ensure the industries receive skilled manpower in a timely manner. The KCC will not merely function as an administrative unit, but will bring tangible changes on the ground,” Agarwal said.Director, UPSDM, Pulkit Khare said that the UPSDM is providing training in nearly 35 sectors and over 1,300 job roles. “The KCC will eliminate the gap between training and industry demand, enabling youth to secure employment in major industries within their own districts,” Khare said.To strengthen coordination, single point of contact officers (SPOC) were nominated by both departments. From Invest UP, Omair Shahid will serve as team leader and SPOC, and from UPSDM, Pavitra Tandon will head the KCC. Assistant Director Atul Kumar Singh was designated as UPSDM’s SPOC, with support from Dhananjay Kumar Dwivedi and Jyoti Srivastava as team members.
