Lucknow: A woman from Indira Nagar locality on Sunday filed a police complaint against her cousin for leaking her private photos on social media, and later intimidating and harassing her family, when she asked the accused to remove the pictures.The accused, a resident of Agra, is a distant cousin of the victim and has been in touch with her since 2013. The woman in her complaint said that he made frequent visits to Lucknow after developing contact with her, and started pressuring for physical relationship. When she refused his advances and severed all ties by blocking his number, he started harassing her and her family.On Feb 23, the accused uploaded victim’s private photographs and pictures of her residence on Instagram without her consent, resulting in a serious breach of privacy. “When I confronted him and demanded he take the photos down, he threatened to murder my father and brother,” the victim said in her police complaint. The Ghazipur (Indira Nagar) Police registered an FIR under the charges related to stalking, criminal intimidation, and outraging the modesty of a woman and launched an investigation into the matter.“We registered the case based on the victim’s testimony and the digital evidence provided. Our teams are currently working to trace the accused in Agra,” a senior police official confirmed.
