Lucknow: A 12-year-old boy drowned while bathing in Beta Nala at Kanar village in the Malihabad area of Lucknow on Monday afternoon. Police got information at around 3 pm on Tuesday and inquiry revealed that six children from Kanar village went to bathe in the drain located near their village. One of the boys, identified as Rudra Pratap Singh (12), accidentally moved to the deeper side and began to drown. Some villagers pulled the boy out of the drain and rushed him to the community health centre in Malihabad, but doctors declared the boy dead on arrival.Police said the five other children who accompanied the victim were safe and the body was sent for post mortem .
