Google rolled out a batch of Gemini integrations across Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive that go well beyond inline suggestions. In Docs, a “help me create” feature generates full drafts pulling from existing files, with style and format matching to keep output consistent. Sheets can now build entire structured spreadsheets from a description and auto-populate cells with live web data – Google claims a 9x speed improvement over manual entry for hundred-cell tables. Drive gets AI Overviews in search results and cross-app querying across Gmail, Calendar, and stored files. The features are rolling out in beta first to AI Ultra and Pro subscribers. Microsoft has been shipping similar Copilot capabilities in 365 for months now, and this update reads like Google closing a gap it let open for too long.
