NEW DELHI: The opposition and treasury benches targeted each other in Rajya Sabha on Thursday soon after leader of the opposition Mallikarjun Kharge raised the attack on Farooq Abdullah. While Kharge blamed the Centre for the law and order situation, leader of the House J P Nadda dismissed linking the incident to the statehood issue. He termed the attack a matter of “great concern”. Kharge said, “The entire responsibility for security and policing rests with the home ministry. Incidents like this raise serious questions about the law and order situation there.” In response, Nadda termed the attack a matter of serious concern and assured the House that Centre is treating it with the “utmost seriousness”.
