BARC OCES/DGFS, DDFS 2026 CBT: The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is conducting the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the OCES/DGFS-2026 recruitment programme and the DDFS-2026 doctoral academic programme under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The online examination is scheduled for March 14 and March 15, 2026.The applicants who have already registered for the courses must download their admit cards from the official website of the online application portal to appear for the examination. The CBT process acts as a common selection process for the two courses, and the applicants must check the details of the admit card and follow the guidelines provided by BARC for the examination.OCES/DGFS recruitment programme for Scientific OfficersThe OCES-2026 programme is a recruitment initiative for the position of Scientific Officers in the Department of Atomic Energy. Selected candidates will undergo the One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates for the academic year 2026–2027 at BARC Training Schools.After completing the orientation course, candidates are considered for appointment as Scientific Officers in DAE units. The programme provides specialised training for technical and research roles in the department.Some candidates selected for OCES may also be offered the Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates (DGFS-2026). Under this scheme, engineering graduates who perform well in the selection interviews and get admission into M.Tech. courses offered at the participating institutions can pursue their higher studies while still associated with the Department of Atomic Energy.The fellowship enables candidates to pursue an M.Tech. at DGFS institutes including IIT Bombay and IIT Madras. During the programme, candidates receive a stipend and tuition fee support.DDFS doctoral academic programmeThe DDFS-2026 programme is a doctoral academic scheme for engineering postgraduates seeking admission to the DAE Doctoral Fellowship Scheme. Selected candidates will pursue PhD research under the aegis of the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed-to-be university.Scholars admitted through the fellowship will join one of the constituent institutions of HBNI, including BARC Mumbai, IGCAR Kalpakkam, IPR Gandhinagar and VECC Kolkata.Examination and selection timelineAccording to the schedule, candidates appearing for the CBT can upload their CGPA score up to the second semester for those appearing in the academic year 2024–25 between March 26 and April 2, 2026.The list of candidates shortlisted for the selection interview will be displayed on the online application portal in the second week of April 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be able to choose their interview slots through the portal between April 17 and April 24, 2026.Selection interviews are scheduled to take place from June 16 to June 18, 2026. The list of applicants selected for the DDFS programme will be declared on the online application portal in the last week of June 2026.Selected candidates will undergo a medical test on July 18, 2026, and the DDFS academic programme is scheduled to commence in the third week of July 2026.
