SSB Head Constable recruitment 2026: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has issued a recruitment notification for Head Constable posts, opening opportunities for candidates across India. The drive aims to fill 233 vacancies in different technical and support roles within the Central Armed Police Forces under the Government of India.Candidates who have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification will be eligible to apply for several posts once the online application window becomes active. The recruitment notice advises applicants to review the official notification carefully before submitting their forms.Application window and key datesThe online application process will begin on March 21, 2026, and candidates will be able to submit their forms until April 20, 2026. The posts are for candidates across the country, and the candidates who are selected will be posted at different places according to the operational requirements.Distribution of Vacancies and Educational QualificationsThe recruitment drive has various technical posts. The largest number of vacancies is for Head Constable (Communication), with 197 posts available. Applicants for this position must have passed Class 12 with Science along with a diploma in Electronics and Communication.Two vacancies are available for Head Constable (Steward). Candidates applying for this role must have completed Class 12 and possess a diploma in Kitchen Management.A total of 29 posts are available for Head Constable (Electrician). Eligibility for this position requires a Class 10 qualification along with a diploma in Electrician trade. The age limit for this post ranges from 18 to 25 years.The recruitment also includes five posts for Head Constable (Veterinary). Candidates must have completed Class 12 with Science and hold a diploma in Veterinary science. For most positions, the age requirement is between 18 and 27 years.Application fee and selection procedureApplicants belonging to the General, OBC and EWS categories must pay an application fee of Rs.100, while candidates from SC, ST and PWD categories are exempt from the payment. The fee must be paid through online mode during the application process.The selection procedure will include several stages. These include a physical test, a written examination, document verification, and a medical examination. The candidate needs to clear these tests in order to move forward in the recruitment process.The calculation of age eligibility will be done with respect to April 20, 2026, and relaxation in this regard will be given in accordance with government norms.
