Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak ordered a show-cause notice to the cleaning agency at Chinhat community health centre (CHC) and directed the deduction of one week’s payment over poor sanitation during a surprise inspection on Monday.Wearing a mask, Pathak stood in the registration queue with patients and interacted with them about hospital facilities. He inspected the pathology unit and directed staff to speed up blood sample collection after noticing long queues. Dust near the X-ray room was also flagged, and cleaning was ordered.At general ward 28, he reprimanded the staff when he found several beds without sheets and lack of hygiene. Toilets were also in poor condition, and officials were asked to improve them.ASHA workers complained about faulty mobile phones affecting their work. Pathak called chief medical officer Dr NB Singh and directed him to repair or replace the phones and clear pending payments.He also raised concerns over the drinking water arrangement and warned officials not to leave the hospital until the system improved. At the medicine counter, he directed that patients should receive medicines within five minutes.
