NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday issued a strict advisory to teachers involved in the evaluation of Class X and Class XII answer scripts. The warning comes after reports that some evaluators were posting opinions and experiences related to the marking process on social media, potentially causing confusion and spreading rumours among students and other stakeholders.The circular, released on March 16, instructs school principals to ensure all evaluators refrain from discussing the board exam evaluation process publicly. The CBSE emphasised that the evaluation of answer scripts is highly confidential and governed by strict protocols to preserve the integrity of the examination system.Confidentiality and professional conductThe CBSE circular specifically prohibits the sharing of misleading information, personal experiences, or opinions related to evaluation on public platforms. It warns that any attempt to misrepresent facts or spread rumours on social media constitutes a violation of professional conduct and may attract disciplinary action.Teachers are reminded to exercise restraint and uphold the dignity and professionalism of their duties. The Board expects evaluators to uphold confidentiality and ensure that all the processes are conducted with integrity. School principals have been asked to convey the advisory message to all teachers involved in the evaluation process.Virtual interaction with principals in Saudi ArabiaIn another related event, Abu Mathen George, the Deputy Chief of Mission in the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, held a virtual interaction with the Principals of CBSE-affiliated schools in Saudi Arabia.The interaction also included First Secretary Vipul Bawa and focused on queries pertaining to the ongoing CBSE Board Examinations. George also updated the principals on the current situation in the region and initiatives by the Embassy for the Indian community.

Cancellation of Class XII examinations in West AsiaCBSE has also cancelled the Class XII examinations in West Asia due to the deteriorating situation in the region. The examinations that were to be held from March 16 to April 10 in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE for the students in these countries have been cancelled. The Board has confirmed that the examinations that were postponed in these countries have also been cancelled.The objective behind this is to ensure the safety and security of the students while ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
