Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of the community health centre (CHC) in Sidhauli, Sitapur and expressed strong displeasure over poor sanitation and basic facilities.Pathak reviewed the medical services, availability of medicines, cleanliness and patient care at the facility. He also interacted with patients and attendants to get first-hand feedback on treatment and infrastructure. Finding the premises in an unhygienic condition, Pathak pulled up officials and directed them to ensure immediate improvement. He ordered a notice to be issued to the agency responsible for sanitation and instructed that its payment for one week be withheld. He also told officials not to leave the centre until visible improvements are made. The visit also revealed gaps in essential services, with long queues reported for X-ray facilities. He instructed authorities to streamline drinking water arrangements at the centre. “Providing quality healthcare services remains a top priority for govt and negligence at any level would not be tolerated,” he said.
