Lucknow: A day after the brutal murder of Vishnu Yadav, 30, at his in-laws’ residence in the Aashiana area, the Lucknow Police registered an FIR for murder against seven members of his wife’s family on charges including murder.The accused include Teerthraj Singh (father-in-law), Saroj (mother-in-law), Yagya Narayan Singh alias Nanhe (uncle-in-law), and sisters-in-law Radha Singh, Ratna Singh, Jyoti Singh, and Vidhi Singh. All the accused are residents of Sector I, Bangla Bazaar, under Aashiana police station.The FIR was lodged on the complaint of the victim’s father, Chedilal Yadav of Pratapgarh. In his complaint, he stated that his son Vishnu had a love marriage with Sakshi Singh, daughter of Teerthraj Singh, four years ago.The couple has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.Chedilal alleged that ever since the marriage, the in-laws were unhappy and frequently threatened Vishnu with abuse, assault, and even death. On March 15, Vishnu travelled from his village to Lucknow along with his wife to visit her parental home.According to the complaint, on the night of March 17, around 11 pm, the family was informed by police that Vishnu was murdered. Upon reaching Lucknow, Chedilal learned that the body was kept in the mortuary. He later spoke to his daughter-in-law, Sakshi, who alleged that her father, mother, uncle, and sisters had jointly assaulted Vishnu inside the house and beaten him to death.Police said the incident occurred inside the accused’s house, where Vishnu was allegedly attacked by multiple family members.Senior police officials said that all the accused have been detained and later, on the basis of reports of the FSL and autopsy, further action will be taken.
