Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of Allahabad HC has rejected the bail plea of an IRS officer Prabha Bhandari posted as deputy commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax at Jhansi in connection with a bribery case of Rs 1.5 crore.A bench of Justice Rajeev Singh passed the order on the bail application of Bhandari. The bench said that no grounds for granting bail were made out in view of the material on record, including a recorded conversation allegedly linking the officer to the bribery transaction.According to the prosecution, Bhandarialong with other officials had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.5 crore from businessmen to settle a GST evasion case. During a trap laid by the CBI, Rs 70 lakh was recovered from a co-accused. TNN
