Shravasti: For the first time after the appointment of Balen Shah as the Prime Minister of Nepal, the first international meeting of the India-Nepal Joint Border Survey Team-3 was held at the Collectorate auditorium in Shravasti.The meeting was attended by senior officials from both the countries.From India, officials included Shravasti DM Ashwini Kumar Pandey, Balrampur DM Vipin Kumar Jain and senior officials from Bahraich, Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj. From Nepal, chief district officers of Bardiya, Banke, Rupandehi, Dang, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi attended the meeting.Commandants of various battalions of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), along with police superintendents from Nepal, were also present. Senior forest and police officials from both the sides took part in the discussions.The Shravasti DM welcomed the Nepal delegation, including Bardiya district chief and team leader Gogan Bahadur Hamal.The state govt has designated the Shravasti DM as the nodal officer and team leader for Survey Team-3, who will oversee and coordinate all related activities.
