Lucknow: The spirit of “Padharo Mhare Des” came alive at an event in the city on Monday as Rajasthan Foundation Day was celebrated with enthusiasm.Organised on the directions of governor Anandiben Patel at Era University, the programme showcased Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage through folk performances, exhibitions and traditional cuisine. Medical students, dressed in traditional attire, presented energetic folk dances that drew applause from the audience. A poster exhibition highlighted Rajasthan’s heritage, featuring its historic forts, palaces and cultural legacy. Traditional dishes like dal-baati-choorma and gatte ki sabzi were also presented, while a skit depicted the state’s unique food culture. The programme was inaugurated by dean nursing at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Dr Ashok Kumar Vishnoi, along with vice-chancellor Abbas Ali Mahdi. Mahdi said Rajasthan, the largest state in India by area, is known for its bravery, rich cultural heritage and tourism appeal, contributing significantly to the country’s economy. In the skit competition, the first prize was awarded to a team comprising Farha Ahmad, Kashish Ansari, Asra Iqbal, Kulsum Rizvi, Falak, Adarsh Chaurasia, Arya Gupta, Pratiksha Kaushal, Rahila and Tahseen Zehra.
