Lucknow: An engaging dialogue on the growing role of artificial intelligence in media and communication was held at the department of mass communication and journalism, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) on Wednesday.The event was held under the SPARK Think Tank Campus Dialogue Series by SESR (Social & Economic Sustainability & Reforms) Foundation. The session aimed to create awareness among students about emerging trends at the intersection of media, technology and society. Supported by Satya MRI, the programme brought together industry experts and academics for an interactive exchange of ideas. HOD, Govind Pandey, highlighted that AI has become an integral part of modern journalism and was transforming newsroom practices through faster data processing, automated content generation and personalised news delivery. However, he cautioned that issues such as misinformation, ethical concerns and editorial accountability must be carefully addressed. Anoop Mishra spoke on the role of AI in public relations. Prem Shankar Mishra discussed the challenges of maintaining credibility in AI-driven journalism.
