Lucknow: Artists paid a musical tribute to Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar on his 107th birth anniversary at ‘Sangeet Ki Dhunon Men Bharat Ki Aatma’, an event organised by UP Sangeet Natak Akademi and Pandit Ravi Shankar Musical Foundation on Tuesday.Organised under state govt’s art promotion and preservation policy, the event brought together dance, vocal and instrumental music in a visually rich presentation.Sitar virtuoso Pandit Ravi Shankar is known for popularising Indian classical music worldwide.The programme began with ‘Bharat Gaan’, followed by 25 students dressed in tricolour attire performing ‘Shubh sukh chaen ki Barkha barse, Bharat bhagya hai jaga’.Sarod recital by Aryan Chatterjee, grandson of Pandit Ravi Shankar, mesmerised the audience. Highlight of the evening was a ‘musical Triveni’ featuring santoor, violin and flute by Padma Shri Tarun Bhattacharya.Mysore Manjunath’s violin performance won many hearts as also Ronu Majumdar’s flute recital.
