The formation of the Lucknow University (LU) unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) was marred by protests on Wednesday. The exercise was taking place at the Radha Kamal Mukerjee auditorium of the social work department. As per rules, the state-level authorities of the organisation select representatives for the LU unit. After the announcement of the results, a section of ABVP student members staged a walkout and protested, alleging favouritism in the selection process. Denying the allegations, ABVP state zonal convener, Aman Dubey, said that selections were based on merit.
