AYODHYA: A 26-year-old woman allegedly killed her husband, locked their 22-day-old baby inside the house and later died by suicide after jumping in front of a train in Ayodhya. The newborn, found alive when police entered the house, died during treatmen.The incident occurred in Gareru village under Raunahi police station limits. According to police, the woman, identified as Sanju, was at home with her husband Shiva, 27, and their infant while elderly family members went to nearby fields to harvest wheat.Suicide note accused hubby, in-laws of harassmentPolice said a dispute broke out between the couple, after which Sanju allegedly struck Shiva on the head with a hammer, killing him. Investigators said she then locked the room from outside with Shiva’s body and the baby inside before leaving the house.Soon after, police received information that a woman was hit by a train near the Devrakot railway track. SP Rural Balwant Chaudhary said officers identified the woman as Sanju and went to her home, where they found the house locked from outside. After breaking the lock, police recovered Shiva’s body with head injuries and found the infant nearby. The baby was rushed for medical treatment but later died, police said.A suicide note recovered from Sanju allegedly contains serious accusations of harassment against her husband and in-laws. Police said the note is being examined as part of the investigation.Roshan Lal, a local said the couple had been married only a year and no one expected such a tragic end.
