Lucknow University’s vice-chancellor Prof JP Saini said that proposed education reform bill aimed at creating a unified higher education regulatory framework will streamline governance and strengthen academic excellence. He was speaking at a seminar on “Higher Education for a Developed India”, organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He said that the plan envisions replacing multiple bodies such as the UGC, All India Council for Technical Education and National Council for Teacher Education with a single authority to reduce regulatory overlap, simplify compliance and improve academic focus.
