Lucknow: Panic gripped the premises of the Lucknow High Court on Friday evening after a woman climbed to the rooftop of the C Block building with her minor child and threatened to jump. The dramatic incident lasted for nearly an hour, drawing a large crowd and disrupting normalcy on the court complex.The incident occurred around 4 pm, shortly after court proceedings concluded. Lawyers, court staff and visitors were alarmed when they spotted the woman standing dangerously close to the edge of the fifth-floor terrace, holding her child. Within minutes, a large crowd gathered below, watching the tense situation unfold.The woman was later identified as Rupali. Preliminary information suggests that she was under severe mental stress due to a family dispute, which led her to take the extreme step.Upon receiving information, teams of police and the Central Reserve Police Force rushed to the spot. As a precautionary measure, a safety net was spread below the building, while a team of women personnel and security personnel was sent to the rooftop to engage with the woman.CRPF security officer RK Tiwari said that the team handled the situation with patience and tact. The woman was engaged in conversation to distract her, and at an opportune moment, she was safely brought down along with the child.The rescue operation concluded successfully, with both the woman and her child unharmed.
