LUCKNOW: With the initial probe hinting at the involvement of a significant number of non-workers and external elements, the investigating teams are now looking at Noida unrest more as a “wellplanned conspiracy” than a labour protest.According to high-level sources, investigations have revealed that out of 66 people arrested so far, 45 were not labourers. In connection with arson incidents, 17 individuals were identified, of whom 11 have been arrested — including eight non-workers.Similarly, 32 people were identified for instigating violence, with 19 arrests made. Additionally, 34 individuals who were not workers but allegedly joined the agitation to create unrest have also been detained.Authorities have also arrested four individuals accused of orchestrating the conspiracy, with alleged links to organised networks. Investigators are probing the involvement of certain groups and external elements, including suspected coordination through social media platforms to incite violence and spread panic.Officials indicated that the violence — including arson and stone-pelting — was not driven solely by labour grievances but involved deliberate attempts to disrupt the economic ecosystem of Noida, a major industrial hub. The situation escalated briefly but was quickly brought under control following coordinated intervention by police and the administration. On the directions of Yogi Adityanath, authorities moved swiftly to contain the situation and address workers’ concerns. Following the announcement of wage revisions, both labourers and industrial units extended cooperation, leading to the rapid restoration of normal operations in factories. Officials said industrial activity has largely resumed, and production lines are functioning normally. Govt has reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order under a “zero tolerance” policy, warning that strict action will continue against those found involved in instigating violence or attempting to destabilise the industrial environment.
