Lucknow: A 16-year-old Class X student allegedly died by suicide in Banthra on Thursday evening. His family said he was upset with his poor marks in CBSE examination.His father is a retired Indian Air Force personnel.According to preliminary information, the boy had recently appeared for the CBSE Class X examination and was upset over low scores. Family members had also reprimanded him for excessive mobile phone use.According to neighbours, the boy locked himself in a room and shortly after family members heard a noise from inside. Finding the door locked from within, they forced it open and rushed him to Air Force government hospital in Memaura Cantonment where doctors declared him dead.Banthra police said initial findings suggest that the student took the extreme step due to disappointment over exam results and being scolded by family members.“The body has been sent for postmortem. The cause of death will be confirmed after inquiry,” said ACP, Krishnanagar, Rajneesh Kumar.
