Lucknow: Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while speaking in Lok Sabha, referred to Akhilesh Yadav as a “friend who occasionally extends help”, Samajwadi Party president said he does not need such friends.Akhilesh was addressing a press conference at the party office on Tuesday when he was asked about the nature of help that he had extended to PM.The SP chief said it was an important question that he wanted to ask the PM as well but his mic was switched off (in Parliament). About the friendship that PM talked about, Akhilesh said: “We don’t need such friends.”“To my knowledge there has been no such thing,” Akhilesh said.“Akhilesh ji is my friend, so he helps me sometimes,” Modi had said while participating in the debate on constitutional amendment and women reservation amendment bill last week.‘Those who change names, got theirs changed’Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday joined Trinamool Congress MP from West Bengal Mahua Moitra to take a dig at chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his faux paus at a rally in the poll-bound eastern state.Campaigning for the BJP in West Bengal the UP CM misattributed a very famous quote of Subhash Chandra Bose to Swami Vivekanand. In another rally that Yogi addressed shortly thereafter, he corrected himself.Taking a jibe at the CM, the TMC MP took to X calling him names, asking him to get his facts right. It was in reference to Moitra’s post on X, Akhilesh said those who are in a habit of changing names, got theirs changed as well.
