SSC JHT recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission has issued the Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 notification, opening recruitment for several Group B non-gazetted roles across ministries and departments of the Government of India. The notification confirms vacancies for posts including Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Senior Hindi Translator and Senior Translation Officer.The application process has begun online and is still accepting applications until the mentioned deadline. Candidates who wish to apply for any position with the central government in regard to language and translations can apply by logging in to the portal after the necessary registration process.Schedule of Application and Fee DetailsThe mentioned notification provides candidates with the timeline of recruitment process. Applications started online on April 23, 2026, and will continue till May 14, 2026. The last date for paying the fee is May 15, 2026, but the correction period for the applications starts from May 19, 2026, till May 20, 2026. Exam for paper one will be conducted during the period of August-September 2026.Candidates belonging to the general category, OBC, and EWS category have to pay an application fee of Rs. 100. However, candidates who belong to the category of SC, ST, PwBD, women, and ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the application fee.Vacancy position and criteria for selectionThere are a total of 84 tentative vacancies being offered, which may be modified later. The posts include Junior Translation Officer, Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translation Officer.Applicants should have completed their masters in either Hindi or English. Besides that, applicants should have either a translation diploma or certification, or any experience of working in government departments related to translations according to different posts.Age of the applicant has to be from 18 years to 30 years, as per August 1, 2026. Relaxations are as per government rules and regulations.Selection procedure and examination formatThe selection process comprises two rounds. The first paper is conducted through a computer and involves multiple-choice questions from general Hindi and general English and includes 200 marks in total. For every wrong answer, a deduction of 0.25 marks is made.The second paper is descriptive and covers translation and essays, also worth 200 marks each. Candidates need to register once and submit their documentation before submitting the application form.
