Lucknow: Professor of Prosthodontics at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) Dr Kamleshwar Singh has been appointed as a member of the Dental Advisory Council of the National Dental Commission (NDC) in New Delhi.He is the only member from Uttar Pradesh among the 23 nominated to the national body, which advises on dental education and policy in India.Dr Singh completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at KGMU. His work spans teaching, research and clinical practice in prosthodontics, which focuses on restoring teeth and oral function.He has participated in international academic programmes, including a scientific exchange between the Japan Prosthodontic Society and the Indian Prosthodontic Society, and is a recipient of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) International Fellowship under the Young Biomedical Scientists Scheme.He has published more than 60 research papers in national and international journals and has guided several postgraduate students.Talking to TOI, Dr Singh said, “This is an opportunity to strengthen dental education and promote patient-centred, evidence-based care in the country.”
