‘Gen V’, the spin-off series of ‘The Boys’, has officially been cancelled and will not return for a third season.Confirming the development, executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg said in a joint statement to Variety, “While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the ‘Gen V’ characters’ stories in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.”Interestingly, with ‘The Boys’ ending its five-season run on May 20, the franchise is expected to continue with the new spinoff serie s ‘Vought Rising’, which is set to debut in 2027. In addition, ‘The Boys: Mexico’ remains in active development.‘Gen V’ Season 1 aired from September 29 to November 3, 2023 and its second season aired between September 2025 to October 2025. As per the report, several characters from ‘Gen V’ are expected to appear in the upcoming fifth and final season of ‘The Boys’.In terms of viewership, the teen superhero series opened in its second season to a strong 424 million minutes viewed in September, securing the No. 8 spot on the Nielsen streaming Top 10 originals chart. However, the show struggled to maintain its ranking.Set at the fictional Godolkin University, the series explored the lives of young superheroes navigating power, trauma, and conflict in a world increasingly shaped by tensions between humans and superpowered individuals. Season 2 introduced a new narrative, including a mysterious programme tied to the institution’s origins and the arrival of a new dean, played by Hamish Linklater.The show featured an ensemble cast including Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Sean Patrick Thomas.
