NEW DELHI: At the IIT2026 Global Conference in California, Isha founder Sadhguru said India should be viewed “not as a nation, but as a civilisation,” highlighting what he described as its long tradition of combining spiritual inquiry with intellectual and scientific pursuits.Addressing a gathering of over 2,500 attendees, including entrepreneurs and technologists, he spoke about the pace of global change and the growing role of artificial intelligence. He noted that technological advances could compress generational shifts into shorter timeframes, placing greater emphasis on human clarity and stability.Sadhguru also said that while machines may increasingly handle data and memory, human capabilities should extend beyond information processing. Referring to the human system as a “sophisticated technology,” he underlined the need to better understand human potential in the context of rapid technological change.The IIT2026 Global Conference, held from April 22 to 25 at the Long Beach Convention Center, marked 75 years of the IIT system and featured discussions on artificial intelligence, innovation, sustainability and global collaboration.
