Lucknow: A glitch in the Lucknow University Registration Number (LURN) portal left candidates applying for undergraduate and postgraduate courses harried on Wednesday.Applicants complained that while applying for admission, the registration fee (Rs 100) was deducted from their bank accounts, but the registration number was not generated. Instead, an error appeared on the screen.LURN is necessary for filling application forms for admission to various courses.“The amount of Rs 100 was deducted twice as I tried to register two times, but no registration number was generated,” said an applicant, Poroush Singh.Another applicant, Reyansh Srivastava said that he tried to log in again after the payment error but was unable to proceed.Ritika Ahuja pointed out the difficulties in accessing the portal and completing further steps after payment as there was no receipt or confirmation after payment and it remained unclear whether the application had been accepted or not.“There is a glitch which is being worked upon by the technical team. In case, money has been deducted without generation of number, it would be refunded,” said admission coordinator, Anitya Gaurav.
