Lucknow: State govt is set to launch a new outreach initiative, Sandhya Samvad, aimed at ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last mile. The programme will be launched from a gram panchayat in Shravasti in Devipatan division on May 8 during which the divisional commissioner, Durga Shakti Nagpal, will interact with villagers in an open chaupal and try to resolve their problems on the spot.Camps will also be organised in gram panchayats to provide benefits of welfare schemes to eligible beneficiaries who have not yet enrolled for the schemes.“The programme will be organised at the gram panchayat level in four districts of the division — Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti and Balrampur — providing villagers a platform to present their problems, suggestions and experiences directly before the administration. This will not only enable quick resolution of issues but will also help identify obstacles in the implementation of schemes,” Nagpal said. She added that a one-day special camp will also be organised in selected villages, where eligible individuals will be provided benefits of various govt schemes on the spot.Certificates will also be distributed to beneficiaries on the same day so that they do not have to visit govt offices.
