Lucknow: An 18-year-old youth died under suspicious circumstances in the Balaganj area late Wednesday night while allegedly performing a bike stunt for a social media reel.The deceased, Abhinav Chaudhary, recently passed his Intermediate examination and was working with an online shopping company. According to his cousin Pankaj, Abhinav left home after dinner following a call from a friend. Around 11:30 pm, the family received a call from an unknown number informing them that Abhinav had been admitted to a private hospital in critical condition. However, when they reached the hospital, doctors told them that Abhinav was declared dead on arrival.Family members alleged that a neighbour, who was riding the motorcycle, deliberately pushed Abhinav off the moving bike due to personal enmity.They claimed that three youths were riding a single bike and performing stunts, which were also recorded for social media.Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Manoj, Thakurganj police registered an FIR against an unknown vehicle driver, treating the case as a road accident. Inspector Omvir Chauhan said CCTV footage is being examined to ascertain the exact sequence of events and that police have also traced the vehicle that caused the accident.
