Lucknow: A case of abetment to suicide was registered against a woman, her father, brother and other family members after a 34-year-old assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was found dead in his rented accommodation in the Ahimamau area under Sushant Golf City police station limits on Friday.According to his cousin, the officer did not respond to calls for two days. When relatives reached his residence and found the door locked from the inside, police were informed. Officers broke open the door and recovered the body.A four-page suicide note was found at the scene in which the ASI expressed emotional distress, stating he lost the will to live and apologised to his family. The case was registered following a complaint by the deceased’s mother, who alleged that her son was in a relationship with a woman he met on Instagram around 18 months ago. She claimed the relationship ended due to opposition from the woman’s family, after which the woman allegedly demanded money and her family issued threats.
