Visakhapatnam: GITAM Deemed to be University School of Science is inviting applications for its undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs for the 2026 academic year. The university is conducting all India level GITAM Admission Test (GAT-2026) to admit the students in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses. Speaking to media on Monday, School of Science dean Prof Anantha Ramakrishna said that the last date to apply is May 14 and the examination will be held on May 17. “Interested candidates are encouraged to read the online instructions carefully and complete their application via the official GITAM portal. Candidates may apply for multiple programs within the same group using a single application,” said the dean.“The school is offering diverse range of undergraduate programs, including four-year B.Sc. (honours) degrees in disciplines such as biotechnology, chemistry, electronics, food science and technology, mathematics, microbiology, and physics, alongside a three-year bachelor of computer applications (BCA). Students can further customise their education with unique minor degrees in cutting-edge fields like quantum computing, data science, and bioinformatics. At the postgraduate level, GITAM provides two-year M.Sc. programs across all major scientific branches and an MCA. For researchers, three-year full-time Ph.D. programs are available, supported by fellowships to foster high-quality innovation,” said Prof Ramakrishna.The dean said that GITAM is implementing a unified student scholarship framework. “Deserving candidates can avail of fee waivers ranging from 40% to 100%. In a significant move to promote core sciences, students enrolling in B.Sc. mathematics, statistics, environmental science, physics, or electronics will receive an additional fee waiver of Rs. 50,000 on top of their eligible scholarships. However, candidates with valid scores from national exams like CUET, JEE, TS EAMCET, AP EAPCET, or JAM are also eligible to apply.
