US President Donald Trump has congratulated PM Modi on his “historic” election victory, a White House spokesman said Tuesday, in an apparent take on the recent round of assembly polls that were headlined by BJP’s big win in West Bengal.White House spokesman Kush Desai spoke of Trump’s warm sentiments for Modi, noting that the US president in their phone call last month expressed his admiration for Modi and “how lucky India is to have him as its leader”.“The President congratulates PM Modi on this recent, historic, and decisive election victory,” Desai said. On Monday, BJP ended the 15-year stint of Mamata Banerjee.
