Lucknow: What began as an accidental tea spill at a roadside stall escalated into a violent assault involving four men thrashing a youth, police said. The incident took place on the night of May 5 in the Krishna Nagar area. The complainant, a resident of Madhuvan Nagar in Alambagh, alleged in his FIR that he had gone to a tea stall around 9.30 pm and was drinking tea when four men arrived there on a motorcycle. According to the complaint, one of the bike riders accidentally bumped into him, causing tea to spill on the rider. The incident allegedly triggered an argument, following which the accused and his associates assaulted the complainant. The victim alleged that the four men beat him up in public before fleeing from the spot while issuing threats as locals gathered following the commotion. Inspector PK Singh of Krishna Nagar police station said a case has been registered and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused involved in the assault.
