Lucknow: Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) will revise its curriculum and introduce new courses in line with industry needs. Students with disabilities will also receive special training and opportunities to connect with industry and employment sectors. In collaboration with the Adani Group, the university will undertake specialised initiatives focused on assistive technologies for students with disabilities.“In collaboration with the Adani Group (Adani Cement), DSMNRU will undertake specialised initiatives focused on assistive technologies for students with disabilities. Training will be provided on the application of these technologies, and modern assistive tools will be promoted in work processes to enhance the functional capabilities of students with disabilities,” said DSMNRU spokesperson, Yashwant Virodai.He said special efforts would be made to identify suitable employment opportunities for these students and facilitate their integration into industry. The academic curriculum will also be updated to align with industry requirements. To formalize these initiatives, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the university and the Adani Group.DSMNRU Vice-Chancellor Prof Sanjay Singh said, “The primary objective of this agreement is to connect students with the actual requirements of industry, foster their skill development, and prepare them for better employment opportunities. Under this initiative, students will be provided opportunities for internships and field training. Additionally, guest lectures and workshops conducted by industry experts will be organised to impart practical knowledge.”He added that industrial visits would be arranged to give students first-hand exposure to industrial operations. The academic curriculum will also be updated to ensure its relevance to industry needs. Joint research and innovation activities will be encouraged, enabling students to work on emerging technologies and new concepts.
