CHENNAI: With the continuing uncertainty over Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) forming the govt, more than 100 law officers representing DMK govt and its agencies during its tenure, tendered their resignation. However, they have been instructed to continue for a week till the new govt appoints its officers.“Generally, as an interim measure, the party that forms the govt will appoint three or four advocates to represent the govt during the summer vacation. But that has not been done so far. Therefore, we will continue as the state cannot be left unrepresented,” a law officer said.At present, the TN govt is represented by more than 100 law officers headed by the advocate-general, P S Raman. As such appointments are predominantly political, the appointments change once the new govt takes charge.Lawyers affiliated to the party that forms the govt will be offered postsas soon as the govt assumes office.
