The short promo showcased Rohit in a completely new avatar as he prepares to step into the world of television entertainment for the first time. While the makers have kept key details under wraps for now, the title and full format of the show are expected to be announced soon on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.The announcement comes at a time when Rohit continues to remain one of the biggest names in Indian cricket. Currently representing Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, the veteran opener has enjoyed a strong season so far, scoring 221 runs in five matches at an average of 55.25 and an impressive strike-rate of 174.01, including two half-centuries. His highest score this season remains 84.Since making his international debut in 2007, Rohit has built an extraordinary legacy across formats. He has scored 20,109 international runs in 508 matches at an average of 42.33, alongside 50 centuries and 111 fifties.The batting superstar also led India to memorable ICC triumphs, winning the T20 World Cup in 2024 as captain after previously lifting the Champions Trophy and T20 World Cup as a player.Rohit retired from T20 Internationals following India’s T20 World Cup triumph in 2024. He remains India’s leading run-scorer in the format with 4,231 runs in 159 matches, including five centuries.He also stepped away from Test cricket after scoring 4,301 runs in 67 matches, with 12 centuries and a highest score of 212.Now focusing solely on ODI cricket with the 2027 World Cup firmly in sight, Rohit continues to deliver consistently. In 282 ODIs, he has amassed 11,577 runs with 33 centuries, including a world-record three double hundreds.
