Lucknow: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will allow its undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students to pursue another degree programme simultaneously – one as regular course and another in online or distance learning mode – under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from the academic session 2026-27.“The decision has been taken as per University Grants Commission directives issued under the NEP to boost employability and multidisciplinary skills,” said AKTU dean UG Anurag Tripathi.University officials said that the dual degree programme will promote blending in different fields such as science with humanities or commerce with tech. They added that it has been designed to increase skill sets and provide flexibility for students to explore different career paths simultaneously.AKTU vice-chancellor, JP Pandey said,”The initiative boosts employability, saves time, encourages interdisciplinary learning and offers flexibility to combine diverse fields like science with management or arts with vocational courses.”
