Lucknow: A threat message targeting UP CM Yogi Adityanath and the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya triggered a major security alert in Lucknow after it was received on the WhatsApp helpline of UP-112 headquarters. Police said the message threatened to kill the CM within 24 hours and blow up the Ram temple with a bomb.The threat was noticed on Monday evening by a dialogue officer posted at the UP-112 social media desk, following which senior officers were informed immediately. Based on a complaint lodged by inspector Sahendra Kumar Yadav of UP-112 headquarters, an FIR was registered at Sushant Golf City Police Station against the mobile number used to send the message.Police said the matter was promptly escalated to the ADG (Law and Order), security headquarters, ATS and other intelligence agencies. Cyber crime experts and STF teams have also been roped in to trace the sender. Investigators are analysing the mobile number, IP address and digital trail linked to the WhatsApp account.ACP Gosaiganj Rishabh Yadav said a case has been registered under charges related to criminal intimidation and obstruction of government work, among others. ADCP South Rallapalli Vasanth Kumar said multiple teams were working to identify and arrest the person behind the threat while security arrangements linked to the chief minister and Ayodhya have been tightened.
